Good Faith and Reliability
On September 4, 2025, Aoyama & Partners celebrated its 60th
anniversary. In human terms, especially in Japan, this is a
milestone year - the year of the 60th birthday. Aoyama & Partners
has reached a major turning point for further development.
More than 60 years ago, in 1965, Aoyama & Partners was founded. As
a patent firm with strengths in the pharmaceutical field from its
early days, we have handled a wide range of international matters
and have been involved in many litigations both inside and outside
Japan. As a comprehensive patent firm with patent attorneys
specializing in everything from life sciences, chemistry and
materials science, electricity, electronics, IT, mechanical engineering, to
designs and trademarks, we are able to meet a wide range of needs.
In 2001, Aoyama & Partners established an office in Tokyo in
addition to Osaka. Furthermore, the firm has gained a high level
of client trust by thoroughly managing deadlines using a newly
developed system in cooperation with a software development
company.
Meanwhile, the environment surrounding patent firms is changing
dramatically. Intellectual property has become a powerful
strategic tool for doing business and has come to play a very
significant role. In addition, as symbolized by the spread of the
internet, the volume of information disseminated on intellectual
property has exploded, and at the same time, anyone can access the
latest information. In addition, there has been a fusion of
technologies from different fields, such as IT in medicine and
biotechnological elements in electrical machinery.
In the face of these major changes, Aoyama & Partners is also
entering a new phase. We aim to be a firm that systematically
pursues a vast amount of up-to-date information that individuals
cannot keep up with, and that goes beyond simply collecting
information; rather, we aim to analyze and utilize it to propose
application strategies, litigation strategies and other strategies
to our clients. Dealing with the fusion of technologies from
different fields is one of the specialties of Aoyama & Partners,
as we have patent attorneys with various technical backgrounds. In
addition, a new legal department was established in April 2017 to
focus specifically on litigation matters.
Times have changed dramatically and so have the demands of our
clients. However, one thing has remained unchanged since the
firm’s founding and will remain unchanged in the future. It is to
meet our clients’ needs in a professional manner, and to challenge
and resolve all issues related to intellectual property. Each and
every one of our employees aims to consistently satisfy our
clients by striving to provide the highest level of service that
exceeds our clients’ expectations.
