Yoshiyuki MAEHORI began his intellectual property practice in 1989. Throughout his career, he has been engaged primarily in patent prosecution before Japan and foreign patent offices for domestic and overseas clients. He has extensive and varied experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications in the area of mechanical and electrical engineering.

Mr. MAEHORI’s litigation experience includes drafting opinions on non-infringement, infringement, and invalidity as well as advising clients on patent clearance. His litigation career also includes representation of a domestic client in several patent infringement cases before district courts and the IP high court.

In addition to his mother tongue Japanese, Mr. Maehori possesses working knowledge of English and basic knowledge of Chinese.
