Tamaki YOSHIDA studied chemical engineering at Osaka University and acquired a wider range of basic knowledge about organic and inorganic chemistry, mechanical engineering, electronics, etc. She worked as an engineer for a semiconductor company, where she studied defects in silicon crystals and handled introduction of an argon gas refining and recycling plant. She moved to the field of intellectual property and joined Aoyama & Partners in 1999. In her professional capacity as a patent attorney since 2004, she focuses on patent drafting, prosecution and trials before the Japan Patent Office and foreign offices in corporation with foreign colleagues. Further, she is involved in consulting on IP-related matters including expert opinion on patentability of Japanese patents.
